CPD is one of two agencies in the Commonwealth of PA that offer their personnel an opportunity to work with a professional coach to enhance officer well-being.

Specialty positions include K9 Team, Motor Carrier Safety Inspectors, Defensive Tactics Instructors, Taser Instructors, Firearm Instructors, Evidence Technicians, Investigators, Field Training Officers, Bike Patrol, Drug Task Force Investigators, Recruiters, and others.

Pay is competitive for Franklin County. The 2024 starting salary is $60,528.00, which will increase to $62,712.00 upon successful completion of the police academy. At the end of the current bargaining agreement, a new officer will start at $66,123.00.
