Sergeant Jakubic

During my 24-year career as an officer with the Chambersburg Police Department, I have been given opportunities to work in many fields and obtain specialized skills that I could only have dreamed of before beginning my career in law enforcement. One such opportunity has been serving the community as a Crime Scene Technician, where I have received extensive training and had the privilege of working with some of the best technicians in the country, including the FBI Evidence Response Team.

Ever since I was a young kid, I’ve always dreamed of being a police officer. Fortunately for me, the Chambersburg Police Department gave me the opportunity to fulfill that dream. Our department is deeply committed to fostering strong community relations, which is one of the aspects I value most about my role. We engage with our community through various outreach programs and local events, building trust and mutual respect with the citizens we serve. This proactive approach not only enhances public safety but also strengthens the bond between officers and residents.

The Chambersburg Police Department also offers numerous opportunities for professional growth and development. Whether it’s specialized training, advancement programs, or the chance to work in different units, the department supports its officers in expanding their skills and careers. This commitment to professional development ensures that we are always equipped to meet the evolving needs of our community.

Furthermore, the positive work environment within the department makes it a pleasure to come to work every day. Our leadership fosters a culture of support, collaboration, and mutual respect. “I have been working in the Chambersburg Police Department (CPD) for 3 years. CPD has a very supportive community and there are no regular working days. I love helping people. I also like police work for its dynamic nature; no two situations are exactly the same. We are trained to adapt to different circumstances and be able to adjust to many different situations while maintaining a clear mind.”

Patrolman Signore
Patrol/Bike Unit

“I have worked for CPD since the summer of 2017. Prior to that, I had many encounters with every other police department in Franklin County through my prior employer. It was due to many positive encounters with CPD that I wanted to work here in the first place. In 2022, I left CPD for about a year due to a change in life circumstance, where I moved to a totally different part of the state. During that time, I once again dealt with many other police departments and was reminded of the high standard of service that CPD brings to the citizens of Chambersburg. In 2023, I moved back to this area. When I heard from Chief Camacho that CPD was interested in me coming back, I jumped at the opportunity. If you want to work for a police department that does things the right way, where you can truly make a difference in peoples’ lives, the Chambersburg Police Department is nonpareil.”

Since starting my law enforcement career, Chambersburg Police Department is the best and most professional department I have worked for without a doubt.  The positive atmosphere of both the department and community have reinforced the benefits of working at CPD.  The numerous opportunities to advance your career through trainings and specialized units have enriched my daily working experience.

Having been with the department almost 5 years now, I’ve received various trainings to become a Crime Scene Technician.  The department also invests in new technologies to improve trainings, such as the APEX Training Simulator, or improve investigations, such as the FARO 3d laser scanner.

When starting this career, I wanted to commit and dedicate my time to one department and expected the same in return.  The Chambersburg Police Department made it very apparent that they were willing to invest their time and resources to make me a great officer.  They were committed to not only encourage me grow but to also be successful.  With that being said, I know there is no other department out there that would interest me, and I look forward to the next 20 years with CPD.
