The Chambersburg Police Department is a dynamic and progressive PLEAC-accredited and credentialed law enforcement agency established on January 16, 1818. It has a sworn staff of 35 officers and 4 civilian staff members, one of whom is a mental health co-responder and community policing liaison. Officers and staff serve a population of approximately 22,000 citizens and patrol an area of 6.92 square miles.

Officers can also pursue Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Criminal Justice or an approved degree program at a cost covered by the Borough.
